Viking style Cloak Pin or Brooch for men or women, with foldform leaf detail and turquoise gemstone.
Penannular means incomplete circle, and these brooches were originally designed as a utilitarian cloak fastener during the iron age. Often known as Celtic Brooches, worn by the Romans, Vikings, Irish, and Scottish among others.
* Perfect for renaissance fairs or everyday wear with a casual, rustic vibe!
*8 mm round green Tibetan turquoise natural gemstone, in a copper bezel setting. This one has the stone and leaf design on the left side when looking at it. The stone will vary from the example shown, but will be a genuine 8mm turquoise.
* approx 2" dia across x 2 3/4" high.
*This pin is forged from heavy 10 gauge copper wire. Foldformed hammered leaf shape on one side and a small loop on the other. Yours will vary slightly from the example due to the nature of real stones and handmade items.
* Hammered to add texture. Hand rubbed patina treatment to give it an old world, aged and oxidized appearance. Please allow up to a week for me to custom make your item.
These pins are not sharp as they are not meant to pierce through fabric but rather push between the woven fibers such as with knitted or crocheted scarves, or bunch up a lightweight scarf. There are quite a few helpful videos on youtube that demonstrate how to use these.
